My officemates and I had our round of Friday night eat-out last week and Elaine suggested that we try this new resto place along Rosal and Tojong Street. You know that narrow street between BPI-Gorordo branch and Citifinancial? Yeah, that's the street. The restaurant's called Ambassador's Cafe. It's actually just a small, quaint place fit for probably around 20 to 25 diners. When I entered the cafe, I felt like I was eating out at a friend's house because of the homey and informal atmosphere to it. Moreover, the whole place was surrounded with local and foreign delicacies for sale from roasted nuts, piaya, and Bacolod butterscotch to cherry jam, passion fruit juices, and aromatic herbs and spices. Yep, it's a pasalubong store slash restaurant. Looking at the menu, the cafe seemed to cater to a fusion of German, American, and Spanish cuisine. Apparently, their bestseller is the Ambassador's Steak. I also recommend their apple shake; it's heavenly. My officemates seemed to also love the rhum cake. The dishes are a wee bit pricey but I think they're a good value for your money. One downside though is that the cafe only had two choices for dessert. Aahh, you know how I am with desserts! Overall, I give Ambassador's Cafe a 3.5 out of 5 food stars. This unique cafe comes highly recommended if you want to have a private, informal get-together or romantic dinner but with a little touch of culinary class. I even came the following night with my whole family! Ambassador's Cafe is located at 168 cor. Rosal & Tojong Street, Camputhaw, Cebu City.
