THINGS (and counting) ABOUT ME:
1. Rumel - RUfino, Jr. (dad) and MELecia (mom). Yeah, I got hit by the first-born ritual . . . not Romel, Rommel, nor Rummel . . . Clark is acceptable though. Har!
2. I'm a HUGE fan of SMALLVILLE and anything SUPERMAN. I have the DVDs, music soundtrack, VCDs, season episodes, picture files, cartoons, bags, caps, t-shirts, stickers, novel tie-ins, comic book, blah, blah, blah. Kinda scary 'coz I never get bored watching episodes of 'Smallville' and 'Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman' on VCD/DVD over and over. Tinang says it's become a sickness. I say otherwise.
3.
Kristin Kreuk is one HOT babe!
4. I wake up to the sound of four alarms - one in every 15-20 minutes. Pretty disturbing really. I wonder how my brother's handling it though especially when we're sharing the same room.
5. Mostly, people call me Mel or Bodz. Uncles and aunties call me Bodie. I'd love to be called Clark or CK(hahaha!). The Supahstahs call me Rumelito. Chemz calls me Rumz. Ate Ai2x calls me Kuya Bodz. Guards in PeopleSupport mistakingly call me Ervin (officemate)! Two of my best friends once called me BIT. Calai, Marco, and Email Sups call me Sir Jeff. Some pips call me Dong. Nong Edward calls me Omel. American clients call me Benjamin. They once called me Echo as well.
6. I have this weird phobia of things related to death - coffins/caskets, cemeteries, hearses, funerals, funeral processions. Bbbrrrr!!! I hate it; it gives me the chills!
7. I drink lots and lots of H2O everyday. I am a water addict. And as much as possible, I try not to drink carbonated drinks.
8. I like to think that I have the weirdest looking toes in the world! Most toes I've seen are stubby and mine seem to have spaces in between them; for me, that's kinda weird.
9. My nose distinguishes me from family members. Pips in the house think na taas ako ilong. Namana daw sa ako great grandmother sa father's side. Coooool! Aside from my eyes, I consider my nose one of the sexiest parts of my body! HAHAHAHA!!! Heck, it's also the most sensitive! I'm allergic to dust, powder, animal hair, cigarette smoke, and strong scents. When I come to contact with these things, I throw a sneezing binge and it sucks big time! Piskot mangatol ug mamuwa ako ilong kung sige na ko ug hatchi!
10. My parents said I almost died twice - ang usa kai kataw-anan ug ang usa kai seryoso. I contracted measles during my childhood and reached a point where I was practically burning. The other time was when I was toppled over by a huge wok of hot pancit canton and I was a little toddler then. Mom says I've got the scar somewhere on top of my head to prove it! Gotta check it one of these days though.
11. My motto and life philosophy? "Life is about change. Sometimes it's painful, sometimes it's beautiful. But most of the time, it's both." Sino ang nagsabi? Of course, si Lana Lang from Smallville.
12. Describe myself in one word? Complicated.
13. First impression ng lahat: Silent . . . at first siguro, pero NOT! I gotta admit though, I'm kinda an introvert. It takes some time for me to warm up to people.
14. Best attribute about myself? I'm the nice guy on the block. Sabi nila ang dami ko raw kaibigan. I'm just friendly, ok?...and sexy, and cool, and handsome...hahaha! I didn't get the Award for Good Moral Character and Right Conduct in high school for nothing. Kinda awkward actually having to receive it in high school graduation . . . yes, in high school! Hehe...Kidding aside, wala akong pinipili. I like to believe the best in others. Kaya nga sometimes may nagte-take advantage . . . Tsaka na yung worst attributes ko - ibang istorya na yun!
15. Weirdest (and worst) thing I've eaten? A fly floating in kare-kare . . . seriously! And before I knew it, the damn thing was already inside my mouth! (vomit mode)
16. It was on my birthday, June 8, that Italy was invaded by Attila the Hun. It was also on the same day that the religion of Islam (submission) was founded in Mecca. Walt Disney graduated from Benton High School on June 8. T'was on June 8 that Siam changed its name to Thailand. What's it to me or to you? Nothing! Just trivia!
17. I had my first crush when I was 9 years old during kindergarten. I think her name was Ryla. It felt funny.
18. My first taste of fame was when I was 15 and represented the school for a storytelling contest of sorts. I made it to the finals but never won the contest. Dangit! I forgot a stupid line and just went into a silent trance! It had got to be one of the most embarrassing experiences in my entire life.
19. Come to think of it, in grade school, I remember that we started some sort of comic book club in class. I was this editor-in-chief and we had to make comic strips (with our own versions of dim-witted superheroes) in a notebook. Thinking back about it, I think it was funny and scary altogether.
20. I'm a resident talent of this local theater company in Cebu - Repertory of Young Professionals in Theater (RYPIT). I had my first taste of the stage with our musical, Annie, alternating as a New Yorker, a slum dweller, and a poolboy. I also had my first major role as King Melchor in another musical, Amahl and the Night Visitors. I'm currently doing the full stage production of the musical, Les Miserables. So watch out for it!

Season 1, Episode 18 - CAFE
My officemates and I had our round of Friday night eat-out last week and Elaine suggested that we try this new resto place along Rosal and Tojong Street. You know that narrow street between BPI-Gorordo branch and Citifinancial? Yeah, that's the street.
The restaurant's called Ambassador's Cafe. It's actually just a small, quaint place fit for probably around 20 to 25 diners. When I entered the cafe, I felt like I was eating out at a friend's house because of the homey and informal atmosphere to it. Moreover, the whole place was surrounded with local and foreign delicacies for sale from roasted nuts, piaya, and Bacolod butterscotch to cherry jam, passion fruit juices, and aromatic herbs and spices. Yep, it's a pasalubong store slash restaurant. Looking at the menu, the cafe seemed to cater to a fusion of German, American, and Spanish cuisine. Apparently, their bestseller is the Ambassador's Steak. I also recommend their apple shake; it's heavenly. My officemates seemed to also love the rhum cake. The dishes are a wee bit pricey but I think they're a good value for your money. One downside though is that the cafe only had two choices for dessert. Aahh, you know how I am with desserts!
Overall, I give Ambassador's Cafe a 3.5 out of 5 food stars. This unique cafe comes highly recommended if you want to have a private, informal get-together or romantic dinner but with a little touch of culinary class. I even came the following night with my whole family!
Ambassador's Cafe is located at 168 cor. Rosal & Tojong Street, Camputhaw, Cebu City. If you have inquiries or if you wish to make a reservation, you can call them at (032) 233-5711 or (0917) 644-2671 or (0917) 3201255.
